Job Description

Part-Time Internship for students wanting to build their resume with a Fortune 100 Company.  Allstate pays to get fully licensed.  Opportunity to work in the financial services industry and get real world negotiations skills.  Marketing and writing insurance policies.

Compensation
Starting at $14 per hour with 20-35 hour work week plus commission on new accounts they write.  Commission is 8-12% of the premium multiplied by their 0-2 year retention rate scaled by volume of sales.  Also all licensed producers participate in the annual agency bonus based on yearly goals established by Allstate.

Salary: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

  1. Marketing - primary responsibility is to grow the agency™s market share
    1. Write new households auto, home, renters, condo, landlord, motorcycle, boat, OHV, & umbrella policies with the monthly expected results of at least 20 items
    2. Successfully discover life and retirements needs and introduce our EFS and schedule at least two sitting appointments weekly for new customers to meet with our EFS
    3. Off-site lead generation events (BYU athletic events football, basketball, classic car shows, home shows, boat shows and power sport events.
    4. Cultivate a database of networking professionals for lead generation and referrals (Polaris dealerships, new single family home builders, and mortgage brokers,)
    5. Prospect businesses within our verticals (dentists, orthodontists, law firms) 
       
  2. Leadership Development
    1. Two year licensed producers are given a leadership opportunity, and promoted with pay raise to mentor and train the newly licensed producers
    2. Manage social media and email marketing strategies to attract new customers
    3. Booth lead agent (required to attend our booth events)

  1. Position is for students currently enrolled in at least a 4 year bachelor-degree program 
     
  2. Successfully pass the Utah Property and Casualty Exam
    1. Score of 70% or better by the 45th day of employment
    2. Paid for by the agency
    3. Obtain the Utah Property & Casualty license, agency pays the license fee 
       
  3. Successfully pass the Utah Life and Health Exam
    1. Score of 70% or better by the 90th day of employment
    2. Paid for by the agency
    3. Obtain the Utah Life & Health license, agency pays the license fee 
       
  4. Continuing Education and Professional Development
    1. Allstate University (binding authority for both licenses)
    2. Allstate LSP Designations (Copper level by 6 months and Silver level by end of 1st year)
    3. Attend and complete the ABI university certification at home office (travel and expenses paid by the agency)
    4. 24 hours (including 3 hours mandatory ethics) continuing education requirement per license renewal every two years.
