Job Description

Farmers Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial, community centered, sales/business professional to join our team in Woodbury Minnesota.  The Protégé program provides the opportunity for an agent candidate to develop their skills and business knowledge while employed (salaried position) under a top performing Farmers agency owner.   Protégé agents who successfully complete the program will be eligible to establish their own agency with the support and guidance of the district office.

This role is right for you! We are looking for a Protégé Agent who is self-motivated, independent, and hungry to learn.  They will work under an established mentor agent who will teach, guide, and coach the Protégé.  Agent in preparation of one day owning an agency. He or she will be trained in marketing, sales, insurance knowledge, customer service, and staffing to fully understand the day-to-day operations of owning and operating an insurance practice.

 

The Protégé Agent will develop new and existing leads, schedule and lead customer appointments, solve for customer needs, and provide appropriate products and services as needed. They will support and grow customer relationships and will ensure that all quotes, procedures, and practices are compliant with Farmers Insurance. The Protégé Agent will maintain a high level of customer service excellence, self-motivation, and collaboration to best serve our clients and gain industry knowledge.

 

Salary: $35,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

  • Meet new business production goals and objectives as established.
  • Develop insurance quotes, make sales presentations, and close sales.
  • Call prospective customers by operating telephones, automatic dialing systems, and other internet technologies.
  • Grow sales revenue by utilizing phone, email and potential client lists.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented mindset
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent Communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Be capable of handling customer rejection.
  • Sales or customer service experience 
  • Pass background check
  • Property and Casualty insurance licensing is preferred prior to starting and is required after beginning employment
