A Protege Agent position with our agency offers you endless opportunities within our company, Farmers Insurance and the insurance industry.  We provide you with training, a licensing stipend and prospects in order to position you to solicit, propose and advise on the insurance portfolios of individuals and businesses. 

Successful completion of the Farmers Protege Agent Program gives you the opportunity to purchase or start your own agency without having to meet the $50,000 financial savings requirement in the traditional agent program.  At the end of 12 months, you will have the option to stay on with the Iris Nance Insurance Agency as an agent associate or start your own agency with Farmers Insurance.  You will have the tools, training and confidence to choose either path.  

A career in the insurance industry is a very fast paced, mentally demanding and ultimately very rewarding field.  If you are looking to change careers or feel you have reached a floor with your current position, you may be surprised to find that a career in insurance can get you where you want to go.  

We provide flexible work schedules, a Farmers professional branded office, intensive training to sell and run an agency, prospects to sell and a stipend for licensing if you don't have your insurance licenses.  The position is $12/hour base plus aggressive commissions.  Average 12 month training compensation of $40,000 working full time.

Post 12 month Training:  Agency Business Revenue: $65,000 - $245,000 per year

Salary Range while in Training:  $35,000 - $50,000 per year

Responsibilities

This program is designed to give an aspiring entrepreneur the opportunity to experience the complete control of running their own insurance agency under the guidance of a local Farmers Insurance mentor agent. You will be responsible for designing and executing a marketing plan; while having access to a marketing budget. Marketing plans include, but are not limited to: 

1. Establishing relationships with community members through network marketing
2. Social media
3. Contacting new and existing customers via telephone and direct mail 

As a Protégé, you are responsible for tracking the progress of your marketing efforts and are encouraged to identify new marketing strategies. With the training under a Farmers Insurance Mentor agent, the Nationally Recognized University of Farmers online training and support from the local Farmers Insurance sales/marketing representatives you will be exposed to all facets of how to operate a successful business.

Requirements

We are seeking college students or college graduates with sales experience in fast paced, demanding environments.  Candidates should have a solid sales track record in retail, financial services, insurance, restaurant management, business operations etc.

Candidate must complete the assessments and demonstrate strong written communication skills.

You will also need to pass background check that considers financial stability and clean criminal record.
