Job Description

We are searching for a result orientated individual with a proven track record of success in business development and/or outside sales and networking. The ideal candidate will possess high-energy, be results oriented, will be a quick learner, enjoy challenges, love meeting new people and work well as part of a collaborative team.

This position will aid in the growth of marketing initiatives and business development in the Hampton Roads market space and surrounding regions to support our sales team in obtaining agency growth for personal lines, commercial lines and other financial and insurance lines of business.

This position is high-energy, high-engagement and high-octane. All applicants need to be exceptional at interacting with and connecting with people, and have the ability to convert all interactions towards sales-focused conversations.

Salary: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position will be to maintain existing relationships and generate new connections for business growth.

The position will aid in the growth of marketing initiatives and business development in the Hampton Roads market area and surrounding regions through relationship building, office drop ins, community events, trade shows and other marketing efforts.

The position will promote a customer-centered culture that strives to exceed customer needs, requirements and expectations by educating and developing rapport with customers.

This position will serve as project manager for key company-hosted networking, roundtable and webinar events to drive new business.

This position will work with department heads and key department staff within company and Choice Financial Group partners to help market all lines of business.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends as required
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships by interacting effectively with employees and external contacts at all levels, demonstrating the awareness of their needs and responding with the appropriate action
  • Highly effective organizational skills to implement a variety of programs,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to create and manage their schedules efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to write effective email messages to potential prospects and clients
  • Comfortable working with Canva for light marketing collateral for events and other marketing projects as needed.
  • Functional knowledge of social media for business purposes

  • Proficient use of: Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • At least three (3) years of previous work experience in Marketing or Business Development
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. and accommodate set-up/break-down for trade shows, vendor events, etc.
  • Ability to drive office visit routes for pop-ins for partner office

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in one of the following areas, Marketing, business communication or English
  • Preference to sales certifications or training
  • P&C license a plus
